Well aware of his leading lady and her costar Irrfan Khan's global fame, Gupta has planned an English version of the film too.
“We are cutting the film down to 90 minutes for the English version. Both Aishwarya and Irrfan have a tremendous international appeal. We are getting the international version ready keeping their visibility in mind,” he says.
Interestingly, the film won't be promoted as typical Bollywood fare overseas.
“We want a non-NRI audience to see Jazbaa in the West. We’re working towards that,” Gupta adds.
Although the film is an official remake of Korean drama 7 Days, the Hindi version's story spans only four days, supposedly making it a tightly scripted thriller.
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi plays a significant character in the film.
