Sanjay Dutt, who is rumoured to be suffering from lung cancer, returned to work after reportedly completing the first round of chemotherapy at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.

Sanju was spotted at Yash Raj Films studios to shoot for Shamshera, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor.

Wife Maanayata supported his returning to work with an Instagram post: 'Rukk jaana nahin tu kahin haarke....kaanto pe chalke milenge saaye Bahar ke!! We have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of our lives!! Never quit!!'

Sanju will return for the second round of chemotherapy after a couple of days.

There was speculation that he would go to the US for treatment, but Maanayata released a statement, clarifying, 'For those asking, Sanju will complete his preliminary treatment in Mumbai. We will formulate further plans of travel depending on how and when the COVID situation eases. As of now, Sanju is in the best hands of our esteemed doctors at Kokilaben hospital.'
