''I have been approached by some people to sing in Bengali. I would love to do it. Right now, I cannot say whether it will be an album or film songs. But I am doing it,'' confirmed Sami at a press conference in Kolkata, on the eve of his maiden concert that kicks off his world tour.
Sami, the world's fastest pianist, described himself as a 'huge' fan of Sachin Dev Burman, Rahul Dev Burman and Hemanta Mukherjee. ''Both Panchamda and his father [S D Burman] have drawn quite extensively from Bengali folk music. I also feel attracted towards Bengali folk music. If you listen carefully, you will find its influence in many of my songs,'' he says.
His concert, like all his shows, will be interactive: ''I like to keep my shows completely live. I like to remain spontaneous. There is also a brand new band of 17 people.''
February 14 being Valentine's Day, for Adnan Sami, means, having "a lot of fun. There will be a mix of all my songs. Being a musician, I can say that there will also be some music too, especially piano.''
