Aditi Rao Hydari has bagged a role in Mani Ratnam's new film.

She was recently spotted in Chennai, sparking rumours that she is doing a Tamil film.

And now, the rumours have been confirmed.

Aditi was summoned to the city for a secret audition for Mani Ratnam's next film, an contemporary urban love story, co-starring Karthi, the talented younger brother of Tamil superstar Suriya.

Karthi is currently the toast of the season after the success of his latest film Thozha.

While Aditi remained tightlipped about her prized role acquisition, Mani Ratnam has confirmed Aditi's casting.

Mani's last film -- another urban love story Ok Kanmani (now being made into Hindi as OK Janu with Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shrradha Kapoor) -- was a big hit.

The Aditi-Karthi rom-com is likely to be shot in Hindi and Tamil.

Aditi, who was last seen as Farhan Akhtar's wife in Wazir, is on the look-out for that one project that will put her on top of the heroines' roster.

Mani Ratnam could be her solve-it man.
