English singer/songwriter Adele emerged as the big winner at the 54th annual Grammy awards that were held on February 12 at Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.
The 23-year-old best-selling artist of 2011 picked up all six awards that she was nominated for including song and record of the year for
Rolling In The Deep and album of the year for
21.
She also won for short-form video, pop vocal album and pop solo performance (
Someone Like You).
Adele
has now become the sixth artist to win six Grammys and the youngest to claim the top three categories.
The singer, who'd undergone surgery a while ago to fix her vocal chords, thanked her doctors for 'bringing her voice back'.
