The condition of veteran actress Suchitra Sen, who was hospitalised on December 29 following a respiratory tract infection, has worsened.

The 82-year-old actress has been on ventilator since noon. The oxygen levels in her body have dropped and her heartbeat is fluctuating.

The medical board of the Belle Vue hospital in Kolkata, where she has been admitted, has kept her under observation.

Just recently, her granddaughter Raima Sen had told us that Sen’s health was improving. Unfortunately, the good news did not last long.

Sen was last seen in her 1978 movie Pronoy Pasha with Soumitra Chatterjee, and since then, she has totally disappeared from the public eye.
