A struggling actor attempted self-immolation outside the Balaji Telefilms office in the Western suburb of Andheri, Mumbai. He was immediately rushed to Cooper Hospital. A doctor revealed that he received 40 percent burn injuries. His condition is stable, and he is out of danger at the moment.

The actor had been doing the rounds at Balaji to get some acting assignments for quite some time but was rejected.

When rediff.com tried to contact Ekta Kapoor, the creative director of Balaji Telefilms, she was unavailable.

Balaji Telefilms is one of the biggest television software companies in India, whose serials run across different television channels. Their most famous show is Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
