A lowdown on the Tamil film industry.
After the spectacular success of Baahubali, all eyes are now on the Telugu/Tamil bilingual Rudhramadevi and its leading lady Anushka Shetty.
The actress was in Chennai recently to unveil the exclusive gold jewellery collection that was part of her royal wardrobe in the film.
The exquisite collection was created by leading fashion designer and stylist Neeta Lulla and meticulously handcrafted by a popular Jewellers.
Directed by Gunasekhar, this 3D period drama has Anushka portraying the role of the 13-century Kakatiya Queen, Rudhrama Devi.
A brave warrior, Rudhrama is considered to be one of the few powerful women rulers of South India. Her stunning costumes and the intricately designed heavy gold jewellery has attracted as much attention as the film itself.
Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Nithya Menen, Baba Sehgal and Catherine Tresa also essay significant roles in the film.
The film has also been dubbed in Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada and is all set to hit the screens later this month.

Kamal's kind gesture
Speculations ran rife when legendary actor Kamal Haasan was seen in an advertisement promoting a popular textile brand.
The ad premiered on October 1st and it was reported that Kamal was paid a whooping 10-crore as remuneration.
This was a first for the actor, who has never lent his name for any brand in a career spanning five decades. Things finally became clear when his selfless reasons came to be known.
The actors is said to have accepted this endorsement to support children affected by HIV/AIDS. Reports further suggest that the actor has donated 16 crore to an NGO that supports this cause.
Kamal's 'Narpani Iyakkam', a welfare association, known for its charitable activities, has also been actively working to mobilize support and funds for children struck by cancer and HIV.

Superstar Rajinikanth praises Vijay's Puli
Despite the presence of several big names -- Vijay, Sridevi, Sudeep, Shruthi Haasan and Hansika Motwani -- director Chimbudeven's Puli opened to mostly negative reviews.
The movie received a lot of flak from critics, but interestingly, the film fraternity seems to have come out in support giving it thumbs up.
Everyone from superstar Rajinikanth to director Lingusamy and actor Jayam Ravi and Tamanna had only positive things to say about the film.
A special screening was held for Rajinikanth, after which the actor issued a statement in support of the film.
He said, "I should say I’m amazed with ‘Puli’. The spectacular sets and the grand scale on which the film has been made is on par with Hollywood standards.”
He also went on to add that Vijay’s Puli was a perfect treat for kids and family audience.
