Director Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta will make her debut here, and will play Tina Munim's role from Subhash Ghai's 1980 original.
The team will leave for South Africa and Kenya for the film shoot, which starts on February 10.
Incidentally, Himesh had sought the blessings of Rishi Kapoor -- who starred in the first Karz -- and the actor gladly gave it at the event.
Directed by Satish Kaushik, the film also stars Urmila Matondkar, Gulshan Grover, Danny Denzongpa, Rohini Hatangadi and Raj Babbar.
