First Look: Prasanna's Kannum Kannum
October 03, 2006 16:51 IST

Prasanna's choice of films has, until now, been impeccable. He was chosen by Susi Ganesan, an assistant of Mani Ratnam, to star in his debut film Five Star when he was an engineering student.

The film was a moderate success, but Prasanna's work was widely appreciated. It was with Azhagiya Theeye that Prasanna really arrived. His performance as a struggling assistant director dreaming of making a movie was natural and realistic.

Then came the hugely successful Kanda Naal Muthal, a soft romantic comedy made by another assistant of Mani Ratnam's, Priya. After its success, everybody expected Prasanna to sign many films, but he made it clear he would only select roles that satisfied the actor in him.

His next is going to be Kannum Kannum -- with the story, screenplay, dialogue and direction by G Marimuthu, who earlier worked as an assistant to Vasanth. His co-star is Udayatara. Naturally, audiences expect something good.
