After American business tycoon Warren Buffet -- the second-richest man in the world according to Forbes magazine --committed to donate 85 per cent of his wealth to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Hollywood star Jackie Chan has followed suit.

Reportedly, Chan will donate half his fortune to charity. The rest, he says, will go to his wife and son.

The actor, who has starred in films like Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon and The Myth -- with our very own Mallika Sherawat -- has already written a will to this effect.

His net worth is about 1 billion Honk Kong dollars.

The money will be donated to the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, founded in 1988, to help the poor.
