Amitabh Bachchan underwent an abdominal MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) test at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital late on Monday evening and was discharged at 2 am on Tuesday morning.
"It was a routine check up," said Dr Ashok Hatolkar of the Nanavati Hospital. He added that the Bollywood superstar's millions of fans need not worry.
Last month, Bachchan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital after an intestinal surgery.

The delay in shooting schedules of his films and commercials has already caused a loss of at least Rs 1 billion.
Bachchan's family is not willing to talk about his health, and the producers of his films are also being tight-lipped.
Some of the films Bachchan has signed are Struggler, Eklavya, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Baabul, God Tussi Great Ho, Darna Zaroori Hai, Happy New Year, Sholay (the remake) and Baiju Aur Tansen.
Last week, a Mumbai newspaper reported that Bachchan would need to be hospitalised again for a hernia operation. Dr Hatolkar denies the report.
