Salman Khan's in the mood for laughs.

Last year he struck gold with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and his wisecracking character in Lucky joked all the way to the bank.

Now, he's back with more comedy in the upcoming Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, directed by David Dhawan.

The film is his first opposite real-life girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Maine Pyaar, the story of Dr Samir's (Salman) irresistibility to his female patients, features Sushmita Sen as his obsessed, dutiful nurse, Naina.

Previously, Salman and Sushmita displayed good comic chemistry in David Dhawan's successful Biwi No 1.

To shake off more than usually persistent admirer Sonia (Katrina), Samir tells her he's married. But she refuses to believe it. Which means Naina has to pretend to be the good doctor's wife.

The comedy of errors is further compounded by Sohail Khan, who plays Pyaare, Naina's smitten neighbour.

Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya is scheduled to release on July 15.
