Iqbal to open the bowling in Karachi!

Subhash Ghai's latest production, the much-loved hit Iqbal, will open the Kara International Film Festival in Karachi on Friday.

The film has Shreyas Talpade, Shweta Prasad Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles, and is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.

Iqbal will be followed by a retrospective of Subhash Ghai films like Kisna, Taal, Khalnayak and Pardes.

Ghai, who is presently at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, said, "We appreciate the government of Pakistan's gracious gesture by screening Indian films at the film festival to show to people of Pakistan who love Indian movies. The Kara Festival will do a lot in the coming years to strengthen our relationship."

This is the filmmaker's first goodwill visit to Pakistan.

The festival will end on December 10.
