Directed by newcomer Kabir Sadanand, the music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar, who have films like Jhankaar Beats and Shaadi Ke Laddoo to their credit.
The songs of Popcorn Khao... may not be a big threat to the popularity of Dhoom machale (from Yash Raj Film's Dhoom), but Dupatta beimaan re will probably find a place in the charts. Sunidhi Chauhan sings this item number with gusto. She is also impressive in the otherwise average Latino music-inspired O solemiya.
Shaan sings the melodious love track Kal se koi with ease. But it does not break new ground in terms of either composition or lyrics.
The peppy Le chale is wonderfully rendered by KK and Mahalaxmi adds to the flavour with a sensitive rendition in a slow tempo.
In keeping with the current trend, the album includes two remixed tracks. DJ Amit has remixed Dupatta beimaan and the soulful Dooriyan, rendered by Richa Sharma. The latter, however, should have been left alone, as the original composition is far better.
If you are looking for some pleasant listening, avoid the title track. It has nothing to offer -- be it the rendition, composition or the lyrics. Perhaps it will be more effective on-screen.
Overall, Popcorn Khao is ordinary fare from Vishal-Shekhar, who have earlier impressed with compositions like Musu musu (Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi) and Suno na (Jhankaar Beats).
