Zee Network announced on Thursday that it had tied up with Malaysian pay TV operator Astro to launch a new Hindi channel for its Direct-To- Home service. The channel would be available in Indonesian, Malaysian and Brunei and will be a dedicated 24- hour Hindi channel.

The channel is expected to go on air within a few months. All of the content would be sourced from the Zee TV library and would include soap operas, movies, lifestyle entertainment and musical shows.

Part of the content would be dubbed into Bahasa Indonesia along with subtitles in Bahasa Melayu so as to provide some amount of localisation. This would be 37 hours per week of Bahasa Indonesia audio track and 54 hours per week of Malay subtitles.
