A high power delegation of American businessmen will visit India next month to explore areas in which Indian companies can invest in the United States.
Senior executives of several New Jersey-based companies as also leading Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., will join the delegation led by the Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce President Seema M Singh.
During the week-long visit beginning January 1, the delegation will visit New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Ahmedabad and also attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
Pallone said the mission would identify opportunities for Indian companies to invest in the US. "In addition, I plan to advocate for Indian economic reforms that would provide for increased sale of American goods in the country," he said.
Singh, who is the highest-ranking Indian-American in the cabinet of the New Jersey governor, said the visit would offer a unique forum to explore business partnerships between the companies of the two countries.
The main focus will be in the fields of biotech, pharmaceuticals, information technology, infrastructure and financial services, Singh said. The delegation will also meet Indian government officials, she added.
