Star News, Aaj Tak lead Hindi mart?

The race between Aaj Tak and Star News to grab the top slot in the Hindi speaking market is getting more exciting. 

Star News quotes TAM ratings for the period 14-20 August to show that the channel enjoyed a 24.1 per cent share in the 15+ C&S Hindi speaking market, according to a report in indiantelevision.com.

Interestingly, Aaj Tak has also been ranked at the same position with a market share of 24.1 per cent in the Hindi speaking market.

Shows like 'Khabar Din Bhar', 'Poll Khol' and 'Sansani' have boosted Star's position. They are followed by NDTV India and Zee News with a share of 17.6 per cent and 18.3 per cent respectively. 

Star News has taken over Aaj Tak in Mumbai with 29.1 per cent share, followed by Aaj Tak at 24.3 per cent.  According to a media statement, NDTV India and Zee News stood at 17.6 per cent and 18.3 per cent respectively.

Quoting Tam ratings, Star News has claimed 36 minutes per viewer as against Aaj Tak's 30 minutes.  While for Zee News, the figure was 27 minutes and NDTV India earned 24 minutes. 

Aaj Tak's programme 'Khabar Din Bhar' was ranked as the number one show.  The weekly political satire on Star News 'Poll Khol' and the crime show 'Sansani' were also rated among the top five programmes.
