Torrent Power AEC Ltd said on Monday it has got shareholders approval for the merger of Torrent Power SEC Ltd with itself.
The shareholders and creditors, at their meeting held recently approved the scheme of arrangement, including amalgamation of the company and Torrent Power SEC and Torrent Power Generation with Torrent Power Ltd, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The reorganisation of the capital of Torrent Power was approved with requisite majority, it said.
The shares of the company were trading at Rs 175, down 0.96 per cent at the BSE.
Torrent Power Generation Ltd is a special purpose vehicle formed for the implementation of mega power projects. The Torrent Power group includes Torrent Power AEC, Torrent Power SEC and Torrent Power Generation.
