Watch and jewellery manufacturer Titan Industries on Wednesday forayed into the fashion accsssories industry with the launch of sunglasses.
The Rs 330 crore (Rs 3.3 billion) Indian goggles market was in a nascent stage and largely comprised of unorganised players who hawked substandard products, Titan Industries chief operating officer Bijou Kurien told PTI in New Delhi.
The domestic sunglasses market is growing at nine per cent, which was very modest and offered a vast untapped potential for a company like Titan, he said.
Titan Industries is a joint venture between the Tatas and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation.
