Justice Arun Kumar is TDSAT chairman

After remaining closed for more than two months, the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal is set to resume functioning with new chairman from next week.

Justice Arun Kumar, former Judge of Supreme Court, is understood to have got the Centre's approval for the post of TDSAT chairman, a post lying vacant for more than two months after resignation of Justice Santosh Hegde.

According to TDSAT sources, notification of his appointment is expected to come out on Thursday.  Justice Arun Kumar, who retired from the Supreme court

recently as a senior judge, has done B.Com and LL.B.

He enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi on July 15, 1964 and started practice in Delhi High Court in 1967.

Prior to that he worked as a lecturer in the Faculty of Law at University of Delhi. Justice Kumar was appointed as a Judge in the Delhi High court on July 13, 1990.

Later he was elevated to the Supreme Court. Besides this, other members on the TDSAT bench are Vinod Vaish, former secretary of the Indian government and Lt Gen (retd) D P Sehgal.
