Tata Teleservices on Wednesday announced outsourcing of its entire IT infrastructure management to group company Tata Consultancy Services, a deal estimated at over Rs 1,000 crore (Rs10 billion) over five years.
The deal will see TCS manage the IT infrastructure of TTSL and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Ltd. The scope of the engagement includes management of all IT-related activities, including implementation, application development and maintenance as well as change management across the enterprise.
"In addition, management of data centres, information security management, training end-users in new applications, disaster recovery and business continuity will also be the responsibility of TCS as a part of the strategic engagement," the company said.
Tata Teleservices CEO Darryl Green said the partnership with TCS would help the telecom company service its clients better.
TCS CEO and MD S Ramadorai said the company was committed to deliver world-class solutions for TTSL. "We will deploy an IT framework offering TTSL the flexibility to introduce the latest in voice, data and content-based services to its customers," the company said.
It said the scalable, adaptable IT architecture will allow TTSL quickly respond to changes in technology to enhance customer experience.
