The company has organised 880 camps to explain the benefits of changeover or switchover for low-end consumers from their current supplier, mainly Reliance Infrastructure.
During the changeover, consumers can take power from Tata Power on the net work of their current service provider.
In case of switchover, they can become a direct consumer of Tata Power on their own network.
The company added 77,763 consumers from April 1 to December 31, 2013, with 75,125 consumers being low-end (0-300 units).
Tata Power said mechanisms like open access and multiple/parallel licensing in distribution allow consumers avenues to exercise choice.
Currently, Tata Power has a consumer base of 450,000
