June 10, 2003 19:13 IST

SSI North America, a subsidiary of SSI Limited, has won a $13 million contract to build a HealthMatch Software application for the state of Minnesota in the United States.

Announcing this in Chennai on Tuesday, SSI Ltd chairman and chief executive officer Kalapathi S Suresh said the contract would be executed in two years time with a gross margin of 40 to 45 per cent.

When SSI completes the software development project, the HealthMatch system would enable the Minnesota Department of Human Services to fundamentally improve programme integrity, efficiency and customer service, he said.

SSI, a premier provider of health and human services eligibility systems, had previously executed projects for other state government agencies including the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance and Wyoming Department of Family services, Suresh said.

He said the HealthMatch solution would be developed using @Vantage, SSI's next-generation platform for case management and eligibility processing.

''SSI's global strategy is to focus on specific business domains.

"Health and human services is an important focus for us. We plan to continue to expand our presence within this space,'' Suresh added.
