SpiceJet to launch Muscat-Ahmedabad flight from Aug 29

No-frills carrier SpiceJet said on Tuesday it will launch a non-stop flight service to Muscat from Ahmedabad from August 29 and has offered an introductory fare of Rs 5,999 (inclusive of taxes) for a single journey.

The airline has already commenced the sale of tickets for the new destination, which will be the ninth international sector to be served by carrier, SpiceJet said.

"The commercial flights on the Muscat-Ahmedabad route will start from August 29.

"The sale of ticket for this new sector has already commenced,"

the company said.

The new air service service will be operated thrice a week with a 189 seater Boeing 737-800 new generation aircraft, it said, adding a new direct flight between Muscat, capital of Oman, and Ahmedabad, capital of Gujarat, will improve connectivity between two thriving centres for trade and commerce.

SpiceJet, which launched its international services in October 2010, currently operates across eight overseas airports, besides 46 domestic destinations.

As a part of its international operations, the media baron Kalanithi Maran promoted airline flies to Kathmandu, Colombo, Malay, Kabul, Dubai, Sharjah, Riyadh and Guangzhou.
