"Hassen is currently reporting to Skoda Auto Europe but in due course of time he will be quitting the Volkswagen group," SkodaAuto's Board of Management member Fred Kappler told PTI on the sidelines of the eighth Auto Expo in New Delhi.
Hassen, who was in-charge of the Indian operations for about five years, was eased out of the country in December last year and replaced by Lukas Folc, the chief of finance of the company's Indian subsidiary.
Interestingly, the exit came months after Skoda's parent Volkswagen's misadventure in Andhra Pradesh where it was planning to set up a plant.
Volkswagen pointsman in India Helmut Schuster was accused of forming a shell company Vashishta Wahan Pvt Ltd and subsequently removed after being accused of fraud.
Asked about the reasons for Hassen's departure from the group, Kappler said: "There were differences of opinion over the strategy being planned for India for future growth."
Volkswagen's communications chief Dirk Grosse-Leege had said earlier this week that its Czech subsidiary had fired Hassen "because of differences over management issues".
