Bihar CM to woo NRI investors

The new Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi will attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, to be held in Hyderabad in second week of January 2006 to woo NRI investors.

Sources in the state government said they would attend the NRIs' meet to personally invite NRIs to invest in Bihar.  A high-level delegation of Bihar government would  attend Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas .

The state will make a powerful presentation at the NRI meet, we are hopeful that outcome will be fruitful this time, officials said.

The state would highlight the potential for NRI investment in areas like agriculture, health, IT and infrastructure.

Besides, it would attract NRIs to invest in state as government would provide land and other facilities." There will be single window system for NRIs to set up industry or business" a senior official said.

In a bid to prepare for the NRI meet, Nitish Kumar is in New Delhi. He has called a special meeting of all Bihar cadre IAS officers on central deputation on December 11 to discuss the salient points of the Bihar's presentation before NRIs.

Nitish Kumar has already announced that Bihar is a good place for foreign investment.
