The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Thursday reported 6.54 per cent increase in sales at 1,18,949 units for February. The company had sold 1,11,645 units in the same month last year.
The company said the domestic sales last month were the second highest in its history after 1,10,424 units that was registered in March 2011.
Similarly, MSI's exports increased 11.82 per cent to 11,296 units in February from 10,102 units in the year-ago period, the company added.
Total passenger car sales in the domestic market went up by 7.13 per cent to 94,118 units last month from 87,851 units in the same month of 2011,
