The country's first specialty mall for interiors and exteriors will come up at Pune in the second quarter of 2006-07.
The promoters of the design centre and mall Ishanya -- Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd -- are aiming at a Rs 9,000-crore (Rs 90-billion) business opportunity and have tied up with Construction Products and Services to train people in interior and exterior designing of houses.
Ishanya is in talks with leading design institutes and houses for a tie up in areas of house designing.
"We plan to inaugurate the mall after we achieve a tenant occupancy of 75 per cent and are looking at revenues of
Rs 30 crore (Rs 300 million) after a year of operations," Ishanya CEO and president I S Narula said.
The 570-million sq ft mall already has an occupany of close to 58 per cent and is targeting revenues of Rs 30 crore after full year of operation by 2007-08.
The company is leasing out the mall space in 52 product and service categories spread over 10 acre plot with 5.5 lakh sq ft of built up space.
