One more senior manager is leaving Infosys Technologies. Anand Rao, Infosys' executive director & GM (Sales & Marketing) and second in command of Australian operations has quit. Infosys confirmed Rao's exit.

This comes after Basab Pradhan and Hema Ravichander, who quit as head of global sales and HR respectively.

Australia is the only market in which Infosys has made a sizeable acquisition as it attempts to build on its global delivery model. Infosys acquired Expert Information Systems there for close to $23 million in late 2003.

Ananda Rao was a member of the board of Infosys Australia, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Infosys.

He also handled two portfolios within Infosys Australia: as general manager - sales & marketing and also head of the Telstra Relationship, reporting directly to the Board of Infosys in India.

Anand Rao was also a member of the executive leadership team of Infosys Technologies in Asia Pacific.

Prior to the start of Infosys Australia, Ananda Rao was the country manager of Infosys Technologies in Australia and New Zealand. He started Infosys in Australia in November 1999.

The operations have grown to cover Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and Infosys Australia now has over 650 people employed locally.
