"There is no need to get agitated. I am confident that all problems could be solved through discussions. Industry and government can work for a better Bangalore," he told reporters after he addressed legislators in the Vidhana Soudha.
Wipro threatens to quit Bangalore
Murthy's comments comes in the wake of rival Wipro Chairman Azim Premji's hint last week that Wipro was looking out of its home base to other regions in the country for expanding its operations and cited bad infrastructure in the city as one of the reasons.
Bangalore, one of the fastest growing in the country following its emergence as the investment destination for high tech enterprises, is struggling to cope with the rapid growth.
Murthy admitted that the city's roads and traffic were bad and needed to be addressed soon.
"A couple of years ago, it took three hours to reach the Electronic City from the city. Then, the government and industry solved the problem," he said.
Stating that there had been no flight of capital from the city due to the infrastructure hurdles, Murthy said the government should specify what the industry should do and Infosys would be the first to play a part in improving the infrastructure.
