Ahead of the five-day visit from tomorrow of Pakistan's commerce minister, Makhdoom M Amin Fahim, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Sunday recommended that bilateral economic cooperation be promoted through a focus on healthcare, information technology and entertainment sectors.
"Political will on both sides to move forward on removing bottlenecks to trade and legalise cooperation in services shall deepen economic integration and foster prosperity in the region," a CII statement said.
The South Asian region underperforms compared with other regional economic groupings and intra-regional trade and investments are low.
