ICFAI plans centres abroad

As part of its efforts to emerge as an international university, the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysis of India is exploring the possibilities of opening up centres in various countries.

A study is being carried out in the Middle East and South East Asia, in this regard, A S Gurunathan, regional head of the Institute said on Tuesday. As a first step, ICFAI has set up a National College in Colombo in Sri Lanka recently, he said.

With nearly 130 centres across the country, ICFAI offering chartered financial analysis, the first full-fledged professional financial programme, would cross the 155 mark before this academic year with 13 centres planned in Tamil Nadu, Gurunathan said.

Recognising the globalisation impact and to enable students achieve the latest skills, the institute and its affiliates have established a close relationship with leading educational institutions and professional bodies in the country, he said.
