Just as Hero Honda celebrated being the 'number one two-wheeler company' in the world for the sixth straight year, its numero uno status has been challenged by China South, the state-run bike producer of the Dragon country.
The Chinese motorcycle maker claimed it had an annual production capacity of five million units and thus became the largest producer in the world.
The motorcycles made by the company include brands such as Jialing, Jianshe, Dayang and Jinan Qingi, which are sold over 100 countries, a report by Xinhua said, quoting the company's vice-general manager Li Shouwu.
The report said China South's asset value and sales revenue have both exceeded $12.66 billion. On the other hand, Hero Honda on Wednesday carried a media campaign across dailies claiming it had become the 'Number One' two-
