HCL Perot to set up US centre

Expanding its operations in other countries, IT services company HCL Perot Systems is planning to set up a development centre in US to serve some of its North American clients in a more focussed manner.

"We will have a developement centre in Dallas, US by July this year which will be useful to serve some important North American customers in application management and testing which needs more customer interaction onsite", HCL Perot Systems chief operating officer C P Gurnani said.

However, on the number of professionals to be taken to the proposed centre and the investment there are still being finalised, he said.

The company currently has four development facilities - Noida, Bangalore, London and Singapore.

Gurnani, however, said the primary focus of development activity would be in Indian development centres.

US currently contributes a little less than 50 per cent revenue to HCL Perot while Europe provides 45 per cent of the revenue and Asia Pacific including India contributes five per cent. Perot Systems contributes 25-30 per cent of the revenue.

The company has around 20 customers which are Fortune 1000 companies.

HCL Perot Systems, a 50:50 partnership between HCL Technologies and US based Perot Systems, at present is servicing four verticals - financial services, travel, telecom and healthcare with finacial services contributing 50 per cent revenues.
