Tatas to open 'Ginger' hotel at Nashik shortly

Roots Corporation Ltd, a 100-per cent subsidiary of the Tata Group-controlled Indian Hotels Company Ltd, will open its 'SmartBasics' hotel -- 'Ginger' at Nashik in the next couple of weeks.

RCL has built a 100-room hotel along Trimbakeshwar Road, near Satpur areas of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation in Nashik, at an investment of Rs 10 crore. The company will unveil this Ginger hotel at Nashik in the next couple of weeks, the company official said.

Presently, RCL has seven Ginger hotels operational at Bangalore, Haridwar, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune and Durgapur. The Ginger hotel at Nashik will be the company's eighth hotel across the country.

"The 'SmartBasics' concept hotels, which was indigenously designed and developed by IHCL, had been launched in June 2004 under the brand name 'Ginger'. The objective behind designing the Ginger hotel was to create a unique 'space' that is conducive not only for guest comfort and relaxation but also for their work requirements. The design of the hotel, from the rooms to the furniture and lighting systems, has been thoughtfully created to offer users a unique sense of being welcomed. The hotels are built around a unique concept that provides facilities to meet the key needs of today's traveler at affordable rates," he said.

The Ginger hotels, which are simple, unique, reasonable, basic, very different, light-hearted and innovative, are priced at Rs 999 for a single room and Rs 1,199 for a double room.

The Ginger hotels have 100 / 200 rooms, with a choice of single, twin and queen-sized rooms. The rooms are individually air-conditioned and provided with electronic locks, comfortable beds, a work area, a 17-inch flat-screen colour television with satellite channels, direct-dial telephone including STD facility, minifridge, tea / coffee maker, 24-hours hot/cold water and toileteries.

Other guest facilities at these hotels include a restaurant, meeting room, gymnasium facilities, a cyber cafe, 24-hour reception, automatic check-in kiosk, digital safe deposit boxes, 100 per cent power backup, as well as wi-fi connectivity in the public areas and individual rooms.
