The Department of Company Affairs is still examining the matter of alleged violation of terms and conditions of license agreement by P K Mittal group company Music Broadcast Pvt Ltd and has not conveyed any decision to the government as yet on the issue.

While MBPL is the FM radio licensee, Rupert Murdoch's Star does advertising, sales and marketing for the FM radio business besides providing "programming expertise."

DCA had been asked by the information and broadcasting ministry whether MBPL had violated any licensing provisions as per Companies Act, sources said in New Delhi, adding the matter was still being examined by the department.

Besides, the I&B ministry is also believed to be consulting the law ministry on this issue.

The matter is under consideration even as Star has clarified on several occasions that as per norms for the first round of FM radio privatisation, there are no specifications on content or programming and thus the company has not violated any norms by providing "content expertise" to MBPL.

MBPL is the licensee for Radio City FM channel.
