Boston Acoustics, the United States-based manufacturer of high performance audio solution for home entertainment equipment, has announced the launch of its India operations.
The company, making available a wide range of acoustic equipment, hoped to garner five per cent share of the market in India.
It would also look at the possibility of forging tie-ups with leading car manufacturers in the country, Christopher Cairoli, the company's international sales director, and Michael Khare, general manager (Middle East), told reporters in Chennai on Wednesday night.
Asked if the company planned to have its own unit in the country, Cairoli said launching of the India operations was the first step. "At a later stage we will look at investment."
Cairoli also expressed confidence that the demand for the company's products would increase. The company's range of high quality acoustic equipment was bound to create an experience of real quality sound, Khare said.
Khare said the company had sold 12 million products across the world in its quarter decade of existence. The UAE-based Sebastian and Sons Private Ltd would be the company's exclusive distributors for car audio products in South India while New Delhi-based Sharada Motor Industries would be the distributors for home and customs speakers for the country.
