The aggregate two-wheeler sales of Hero Honda, TVS Motor, Yamaha and Suzuki rose 32 per cent to 520,014 units last month, against the 393,604 units sold in the same month last year. Bajaj Auto and Honda Motorcycle and Scooters did not release their sales data today.
Hero Honda, which commands a 59 per cent market share, stated that its sales rose 32 per cent to 381,378 units from 289,426 units sold in the same month a year ago.
"What is noteworthy is that the robust November sales numbers come on the back of the good performance we staged during the festive season in September and October. Sales for the November period are the best ever," Anil Dua, senior vice-president (sales & marketing), Hero Honda, said.
Analysts said improving sentiments and a pick-up in overall economic activity helped two-wheeler manufacturers to post good sales in November. They expect the healthy trend to continue in the remaining months of the current year.
Chennai-based TVS Motor Company sold 106,836 units in November, a 38 per cent growth over the 77,491-unit sale posted in the similar period last year. However, exports for the manufacturer of the twin-spark plug kitted Flame motorcycle dipped 33 per cent to 14,008 units.
