"The recent statistics by World Health Organization on the fatality of certain women-specific illnesses was an eye-opener.
"As is the case world over, women in India too are becoming increasingly prone to some critical illnesses today, in comparison to a few years ago.
"Hence, we launched a Critical Illness plan to cover these ailments specific to women," Bajaj Allianz General Insurance chief marketing officer Tapan Singhel said in a release issued in Mumbai.
The policy provides a lump sum amount on the diagnosis of the illnesses during the policy term, as well as certain congenital disorders.
