Govt constitutes National Aviation Company board

Government on Tuesday constituted the board of National Aviation Company of India Ltd, a company born out of the merger of Indian and Air-India, and appointed V Thulasidas as the chairman and managing director of the newly constituted board.

Other members of the board would comprise Vishwapati Trivedi as the joint managing director, V K Verma, director (commercial) and Anup Srivastava, director (personnel), an official spokesperson said in New Delhi on Tuesday.

S Chandrashekhar, director (finance), S Punhani (ground handling), Amod Sharma (related business), K M Unni, MRO (airframe), V K Sharma, MRO(engineering), Anita Khurana (cargo) would be be part of the board of directors of the new company.

ICICI Chairman N Vaghul would be the non-official director, while additional secretary and financial advisor in the aviation ministry, Raghu Menon, and joint secretary in the ministry R K Singh would be the government directors.

Thulasidas, who was the managing director of the erstwhile Air-India, Trivedi, chairman of the erstwhile Indian, Menon and Singh would continue on the NACIL board for the remaining period of their tenure as directors.

National Aviation Company of India Limited was substituted in place of Air India Ltd and Indian Airlines Ltd on March 30.
