ATI Tech to invest $50 mn in India

ATI Technologies, designer and manufacturer of 3D graphics and digital media silicon solutions, plans to invest $ 50 million in research and developement facility in India in the next five years.

ATI senior vice president and general manager consumer business unit Adrian Hartog told reporters in Hyderabad on Thursday that its new $15-million facility in Hyderabad is the largest R&D centre outside North America and is currently working on developing chipsets for cell phones, high-definition TVs and set-top boxes.

He said ATI has made great strides
acquiring new customers and developing strategic partnerships with leading IT industry corporations, adding new product offerings and expanding the company's geographic reach.

ATI Technologies India managing director Dasaradha Gude said the new facility would strengthen ATI's commitment to provide innovative 3D graphics and digital media silicon solutions to 'its worldwide customer base'.
