A-I to resume flights to Hong Kong

July 01, 2003 11:28 IST

Air-India will reintroduce two of its five Mumbai-Delhi-Hong Kong flight services from July 11.

It will also add another flight on the Mumbai-Paris-Newark sector from July 4, the carrier said in a media release on Tuesday.

The Hong Kong flights were temporarily withdrawn by Air-India in April, in view of the adverse impact of SARS on the passenger traffic.

Both these flights - on Tuesdays and Fridays - will also operate on the extended sector to Osaka, as earlier, the release added.

Air-India also plans to step up flights to Hong Kong in line with the traffic growth on the India-Hong Kong sector.

With the addition of the fifth service to Newark, Air-India will now have 15 flights a week to the US.

While seven of these are operated on the India-London-New York sector, three are operated to Chicago via London. The remaining five services are to Newark via Paris, the release added.
