Air Arabia cuts Hyderabad-Sharjah fares

Air Arabia, one of the largest low-cost-carrier in West Asia and North Africa has announced new fares for its Hyderabad-Sharjah route starting from Rs 1,340 exclusive taxes.

Talking to mediapersons in Hyderabad on Wednesday, A K Nizar, head of commercial department, Air Arabia, said that the airline launched in Hyderabad in October 2008, has been well received by passengers from city and adjoining regions.

The airline enjoyed an average of 85 per cent seat factor for Hyderabad-Sharjah route for the month of January 2009.

"We are extremely happy with the positive response that we have received from Hyderabad. This is our twelfth destination in India and we are committed to providing the best value for money of our customers", Nizar said.

"High frequencies, on-time performance and by far, the most affordable fares represent the unique service we offer to our customers. As part of our commitment to the Indian market, we will continue to offer such unique packages which would make travel to Sharjah even more affordable", Nizar added.

Air Arabia flies directly from Sharjah to 12 destinations in India; Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Thiruvanathapuram, Bangalore, Kozhikode and Delhi and 95 flights in a week.

The company also extends visa assistance services from any of its 44 destinations across the airline's network.

"Shortly, we plan to introduce Goa-Sharjah direct flight twice a week," Nizar said. The arilines would add 44 more aircrafts to its fleet in addition to 16 existing by 2010, Nizar said.

On the financial matters, Nizar said the profit in the last FY Jan-Dec 2007 was AED 376 million. The company's turnover was AED 1.8 million during FY 2007-08, he added.

The company's net profit for the three months ending September 30, 2008 stood at AED 214 million, an increase of 30 per cent compared to AED 165 million during the third quarter of 2007, he said.
