Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Communication on Friday reported a 3.51 per cent growth rate in net profit at Rs 1,444.17 crore (Rs 14.44 billion) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008.
The telecom services provider had a net profit of Rs 1,395.14 crore (Rs 13.95 billion) in the third quarter of FY'08, RCom said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
RCom's total income rose by 18.75 per cent to Rs 5,671.82 crore (Rs 56.71 billion) for the quarter under review from Rs 4,776.26 crore (rs 47.76 billion) in the corresponding period last fiscal.
During the nine-month period ended December 2008, RCom posted a net profit of Rs 4,630.62 crore (Rs 46.30 billion) against Rs 5,165.41 crore (Rs 51.65 billion) in the same period last fiscal.
The total income during the period rose by 21.06 per cent to Rs 16,436.85 crore (Rs 164.36 billion).
Shares of RCom closed at Rs 160.15, down 4.50 per cent on the BSE.
