Hours after Jet Airways announced the reinstatement of its sacked staff, some of the airline's crew members alleged they were asked not to meet MNS chief Raj Thackeray who had threatened to disrupt the airline's operation if the employees were not taken back.

"Some cabin crew members who were planning to visit Raj Thackeray's residence in central Mumbai's Shivaji Park this morning, received telephonic threats and warning that we should not meet him," Sameer Dalvi, a cabin crew member, claimed.

"I am not a member of MNS. We just wanted to thank Raj Thackeray for his role in getting the lay-off orders cancelled," Dalvi said. He alleged that he and some others received phone calls on behalf of the Jet management.

"We got a call at 6.30 am to report to duty at the Andheri office at 8 am," Dalvi told reporters outside Thackeray's residence. "The Jet management asked us not to meet Raj," he added.

MNS had threatened not to allow operations of Jet Airways flights from the city following the airline's move to axe many of its staff. MNS had claimed that Jet chief Naresh Goyal rang up Raj Thackeray to resolve the issue.

However, in a late night press conference, Goyal denied having spoken to even a single politician on the matter.
