Government said on Tuesday steps are being taken to overcome the shortage of quality engineers in the IT industry.
National Association of Software and Services Companies has raised the issue of lack of employability of engineering graduates in IT and IT enabled Services sectors, Minister of State for Human Resources Development D Purandeswari said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
The minister said to improve the situation, All India Council for Technical Education is taking advice regarding IT courses and their upgradation from the All India Board of Studies in Information Technology under it.
Besides, a programmes of finishing schools for unemployed engineering graduates to prepare them for IT and ITeS industry has been taken
up in the current financial year.
