Apollo Hospitals group and Lavasa Corporation signed an agreement on Friday to set up an integrated healthcare and wellness destination at the Lavasa Hill town near Pune.
Lavasa is a modern hill town being developed by Hindustan Construction Company group and is spread across 12,500-acres of land, about 65 km from Pune.
Initially, the plan is to establish a multi-specialty hospital with a capacity of 50 beds which would be ready by 2009, a company statement said.
Eventually, services shall extend to wellness activities, long-term care and research and development, amongst others.
The integrated hospital and wellness centre would have four major service verticals -- medical cluster, wellness cluster, long-term care and education-R&D zone.
Medical cluster would have a higher secondary care hospital and medical and surgical ICUs for key
specialities like cardiology, neurology, orthopedics and pediatrics.
