Global telecom networking major BT said on Tuesday it is expecting a revenue of 250 million dollars from its Indian operation by 2009.

"Our greatest challenge in India is to ensure that our services and operations exceed customers' satisfaction. Our plans for India are well on track and we are poised to reach the 250 million dollar target revenue from India by 2009," BT India Chairman and Managing Director Arun Seth said in New Delhi.

The company announced on Tuesday its expansion for Indian enterprise communication market by increasing the number of connecting points for its network infrastructure -- multi protocol level switching

which is the basis for high quality video and voice services over the Internet.

With this, the company has 14 connecting points (nodes) in India -- highest by any global service provider, Seth said.

New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune will have multiple nodes.

BT, which has 300 customers in the country, will focus on Indian MNCs, banking and financial sector, broadcasting and media sector to grow its business in the country.
