Your say: Intel dumps India for China
September 06, 2007 08:51 IST

Intel, the world's largest chip maker, deferred on Wednesday its decision to make India its chip-manufacturing destination as the government was slow to announce the semiconductor policy.

"We were in serious discussion for chip manufacturing in India but the government was a bit slow on semiconductor manufacturing proposals," Intel Chairman Craig Barrett, who is on his ninth visit to India, said in New Delhi.

Do you think it spells a big loss for India's IT sector? Do you think Indian government should not have let such an opportunity slip out its hands.

Or do you think the government was right it not hurrying up its decision? Can you cite other instances wherein Indian government's apathy had led to big companies pulling out of India?
